1 —Make rejoicing in the Lord your new normal.
“But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You. For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as a shield”. Psalms 5:11-12 NKJV.
Hab 3:17-19. “Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls— Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills”
2—Resist selfishness, release generosity.
“There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty. The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.” Proverbs 11:24-25 NKJV
3—Expect new doors of opportunity to open from the Lord.
“…‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true,…He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it… Revelation 3:7-8 NKJV
4—Allow God’s love to swell in your heart and release every bitterness or unforgiveness of your past.
“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”
Ephesians 4:29-32 NKJV.
5— Keep your eyes on Jesus and walk above the fray.
“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith… Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV
